Wowww... how time flies and we are working hard on getting this box set out, hopefully in time for the year end and whaddayaknow... it is the last quarter of the year already!And Christmas is just over the horizon ehh? Maybe you dad or mum, uncle or aunt may expect to have this CD boxset as a gift, that is a good idea, ain't it ?
As I am looking out for all the lyrics and putting them here in order and all, seeking out the little details like the year it was recorded, or the year it became a big hit, and so on. I came realise some songs were hits before 1950 (so I thought wrong). Old as they are, I must admit they are so beautiful it is timeless. That is why it is called a classic, or known as a standard. Like it has become a standard set to the whole world, so popular it is to be known by everyone, to be sung at gatherings, or at a party, or even in solitude. A standard (song) is to able to sung without any music, with no instrument. Just by a single voice, you can tell the words, or hum the tune and you feel all mushy inside. Perhaps even get goosebumps.
Then that is A standard.
